A handsome young man, Quince Abel, wakes up in the middle of the night with bloody bite marks on his chest. He fears he may have been assaulted by a slightly older woman in black while he slept.

At the same time, the police are investigating a series of gruesome murders of handsome men whose bodies also have bite marks and who have been drained of blood.

Meanwhile, Quince's behavior, deteriorates from odd to savage to murderous, apparently in thrall to this mystery woman.
